Our Shorthorn calves, heifers, cows and

bulls are raised on grass as nature intended. We rotate pastures frequently in various paddocks separated by electric fence. Pasture management is a key for proper nutrition of our cows. Thus, increasing gain and improving health of our herd. A good free choice mineral & de-worming program are fundamentals. Many times, during growing season pastures are clipped or shredded to keep fresh grass growth. Had to snap a photo of Nile Valley Maid 89 tag 62 this evening while checking the fall group. We really love her and are very proud of her accomplishments and data. This cow of the Maid tribe writes and proves it already, a two-time Performance dam with her dam and granddam having multiple Performance awards. She has all 17 EPDs in the top 35% of the breed, which is very impressive. She is nursing a beautiful heifer calf. There's a lot to like about this Maid cow.
