Hunny Hill Farms

Hunny Hill Farms Starting a small family farm is not as easy as people may think. Currently, we have a 3000 sqft. garden and nine laying hens.

A small family farm on roughly 18 acres of land. We are just getting started in this new chapter. We currently have a 3000 sqft garden plot and 9 laying hens. In the future, we will have honey bees, fruit and nut trees, and some livestock. We are unsure of the type of livestock we will have, but we have a couple of ideas of what we want.

First chick hatched at the farm. We let mom stay in the coop with the other chickens. She did great for being a first time mom! She is feisty, protective, and only had to be put back on her eggs once. I think she had a momentary lapse of memory. As soon as I put her back on her eggs, she settled in and did what a good momma is supposed to do.

The momma is the only survivor of a fox attack last year. Out of 12 hens that were 4 months old, she found a way to survive. I am proud of "Little Girl" who has now became "Momma Girl".

Bought 2 Heather plants for the bees. Planted them and had to buy 4 more. The bees went crazy for them.
