“Happy Wednesday!”…
Well, it’s the “beginning” of our week here at EL EL, and we have a lot to do. Technically, we have been working all week, btw, just not open to the public here in the Taqueria. You know Makers’ Market Shop & Studio is open Monday- Saturday every week, right? It’s fully stocked with all sorts of fresh and innovative foodstuffs, many of which are created right here at EL EL FRIJOLES’ World Headquarters. A lot of our products are from other parts of Maine, too- Pizzas from Newport, Berries from Passamaquoddy, Scone mix from Northport, Beer from Ellsworth. Today we’ll be receiving a load of freshly-baked bread and pastries from Tinder Hearth in Brooksville.
But we always have our fresh and frozen food ready to go just steps up the hill. On Monday and Tuesday, we see lots of cars pulling into the drive here, and they just head off on their way, disappointed and hungry, never knowing that tasty treats are available 25 seconds up the road! Tragic…
Anyway, now that it’s Wednesday, we will be open at both places today! As it’s Wednesday, we shall be serving Fish Tacos today (if you’ve not figured this out yet, we do Fish on Wednesdays) and today we’ll have Pan Seared Haddock Tacos! We also have fresh, local Crab, so we’ll have our Local Crab Quesadilla, served with a nice salad. Not in the mood for seafood? We have more local food, with a Calyx Farm’s Kale and Caramelized Onion Quesadilla. If you have had this, you know haw dang delicious it is, and it’s vegetarian, too.
We also have the whole menu of Taqueria Specialties available, a slew of our fresh Agua Fresca, maybe even a few Desserts! And Dog Bones for your little buddy.
11-7 at both places today, it may be damp, but it’s still summer!
