We kicked off the fourth annual Homegrown Harvest Festival with the Harvest Classic golf tournament at Cypress Cove. The sponsor dinner moved to Boxwood Farms Virginia where Harper's Table treated us to tomahawk ribeyes from River Road Farm and w**e from Virginia Wineworks/Michael Shaps Wines and Barboursville Vineyards. Saturday was the Western Tidewater Tennis Association tennispalooza before everyone headed to Goose Hill Farm for an incredible lineup of food and beverages from chefs from Shagbark RVA, Love Song, Yorkie's Modern Deli, Commune, Nansemond Brewing Station, Iron Clad Bourbon, and Cirrus Vodka. The culinary arts team from Isle of Wight County Schools led by Scott Horne and Nic Hagen worked alongside the chefs and created amazing bites utilizing Dardens Country Store ham. The soundtrack for the weekend was some of Virginia's most talented musicians. Common Ground Bluegrass, the Lawn Boys, a Phish tribute band, La Primavera Strings, Huntley and Gabe Niles kept us rocking all weekend! All of the money raised supports the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia, The T2 Fitness Foundation, and The CROP Foundation. It was an incredible weekend of collaboration, dedication, generosity and love for the culinary foodways that make Virginia a top destination and place to live!
