Summer foraging on the property is one of the simple joys of staying here. During berry season, any of our friends or guests are welcome to borrow a little bucket, and we'll point you in the right direction depending on whats ripe ⬅️➡️

This grove has become a favorite hangout for our chickens, wild birds, and guests alike. The birdsong in here is incredible. 🐦

🌿 First time processing bamboo shoots!

We like to keep the paths clear in our little bamboo forest, which means occasionally stepping on what we lovingly call "death spikes."

This time, we peeled, chopped, boiled, and brined the shoots to preserve them for later.

Went for a short walk along the creek bed the other day and the salmonberries are absolutely everywhere this year. Picked about 3 cups in no time — a nice mix of red and golden berries.

Turned them into a sour cream salmonberry crumble 🍓🍰
