Not sure why this popped up. I miss hugging your neck and you resting your head on my shoulder. We had some great rides, I think riding in the mountains with you were some of my favorites!

Rest in peace my beautiful boy!
If the day should come when I'm in pain,
And you know I won't be well again,
Promise you'll do what must be done,
If this is the battle that can't be won.

It'll break your heart, but please be kind,
Don't let your grieving sway your mind.
For this is when you'll let me see
Just how much you do love me.

Together we've had happy years
The future now can hold no fears.
Please don't let me suffer so
When that days comes, please let me go.

For my usual vet please will you send?
But stay with me until the end.
Hold me steady, speak to me
Till my once bright eyes no longer see.

In time I hope you'll come to see
It's the last kindness you'll do for me
One more time please stroke my mane
And know that I'll have no more pain.

And don't be sad that it was you
Who decided this was what to do.
We've been such buddies through the years
Don't let me be the cause of tears.

You'll always see me graze now,
with the sun upon my back
Painful limbs won't tire me now,
however long the hack.

I live now in your heart and mind,
a lovely place to stay.
And what you have in memories,
no one can take away.

Well the wind hasn’t been to friendly when it comes to the roof on the chicken house. After a trip to Home Depot we removed what was still hanging on. It wasn’t much as all the bailing wire & duct tape I rounded up & used the past month or so just couldn’t cut it.
We got new tin & were able to get 1/2 the new roof on before dark. Recon we’ll get the other 1/2 on next weekend & add roofing to another area too!

Have you ever heard of a barndominium? A barndominium is a type of house that is built to look like a barn but have the amenities and the features of an actual house. Barndominiums are often built in fields or in areas that have a lot of greenery.

Came home to a double blessing tonight. Biscuit kidded while I was at work today. Twins, beautiful black n white buck and he’s blue eyed. And a precious black & white doe with roaning and looks like one blue eye and her other eye is a gold brown. Beautiful beautiful babies!

Looking up some info for a friend that's going hunting in Colorado & ran across this wound recipe from a old horseman we hunted with there.
1 qt fish oil
1 qt pure spirits of gum turpentine
2 oz sulphuric acid

Mix all ingredients stirring for about 5-10 minutes. Place in dark glass jug. Paint on wound daily until healed.

Well its official... Thursday's surgery day. Will be glad to get er done. Luckily I should only be out of commission 10 days to 2 weeks. On the down side that means a lot of cut backs outside so family isn't overwhelmed with my chores. Does are drying up. Milking only 2 steady so just enough to keep up with what we need & put a bit aside for winter 😏
