These are fantastic! Honey comb is *THE* purest, most raw form of honey you can get. The frames are removed from the hive, the wax is separated from the comb, and the comb is cut into chunks and placed in packaging for you to enjoy. It hasn’t been modified, changed, and is left in its original form.

We get a lot of questions like, “What do you DO with the comb?” You chew it!it turns into a rubbery, gum-like substance. Some people enjoy the chewing sensation. Some will ingest it and others will dispose of it when they are done. That is a personal preference.

We also offer submerged bite size comb, as well as a larger submerged chunk with additional honey.

These can be found in some stores, the on Saturday from 9-1, and always online for shipping.

Look at the star of this charcuterie board…our squeeze bear. A little drizzle here and there makes the perfect blend of savory and sweet. Never heated, never added to, just pure, raw, natural honey.

It’s like a honey lava lamp. Couldn’t you watch those bubbles rise all day?

Bees live approximately 6 weeks (except the queen) and only produce 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey during their life. It would take approximately 1,100 bees to produce the honey to fill one 16oz jar.

It’s easy to fall in love with the golden goodness that the bees make. Relax and take in what it takes to make those bubbles flow.

🍓 Strawberry honey butter for the spring time. Light. Refreshing. Hint of sweet. Perfect on a biscuit.

🧈 1 stick unsalted butter
🧂 Pinch of kosher salt
🍓 4-8 strawberries
🍯 1/8ish cup Holdman Honey

In a food processor, cream butter and salt until light and fluffy using the pulse setting. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl.

Add mashed strawberries until incorporated. Then pulse in honey.

Enjoy!

Marking queens.

In each hive, there can only be ONE. We take time to mark each queen so when our customers come to pick up their nucs they can choose the frames they like best, and ensure they have a gentle Italian queen that is easy to spot.

If more than one queen is present, typically they will fight until one of them is eliminated. Or worker bees will surround one of them and treat her as an outsider until she is ultimately killed.

There’s a reason she’s called the queen!

We’ll share this love of bees with everyone!

We had our first round of nucleus (or “nuc”) pickups. A nuc is a starter hive with bees, frames, nutrition, and an Italian Queen.

People who need new queens, are hobbiests, or who are just getting started were able to pick up their nucs and transport them to their new forever homes.

The nucs will stay put for the first day or two to settle in before being relocated into larger boxes to begin pollinating and producing honey for their new owners. Within a few days the frames will be ready for their first extraction. They’ll continue to make honey for about three months.

Happy Earth Day!!

What a wonderful place to be, on Earth in creation. Without bees, the planet would have a very hard time existing. Bees pollinate about 1/3 of the world’s food supply. Things like almonds, avocados, berries, onions, coffee, and so much more would become in high demand, labeled a delicacy, and prices would surge without bees.

This Earth Day celebrate by planting native flowers in your yard, and supporting local beekeepers and farmers.

🧸 This cutie bear debuted with Holdman Honey in December, and he needs a name!

🧺 We know bears love honey, marmalade and “picinic baskets” as evidenced by the greats Pooh, Paddington, and Yogi. This bear has just as much love for those things, and beekeeping adventures.

👦🏻👧🏼👦🏻👧🏻 Should his name start with the letter “R” like the rest of the Holdman children?

🐝 Should it be honey/bee-related? Should it be a play on words?

🍯 Should it also start with “H” to go along with Holdman Honey? Help us out!
