Wine Lounge is closed THIS WEEK Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday... WE'RE HEADED OUT TO PASTURE!!

But we'll be back next week again, open from 5-9PM Thursday for Open Mic Night, Friday 12-5PM, from 3-9PM Saturday the 6th with Charlee Prayers playing R&B on the patio, and open next Sunday as well from 12-5PM.

Dance in a rainstorm. Go on a hike in a jungle. Drink some Chardonnay with a steak, or drink some Merlot with fish. Break a few rules... and most definitely, don't apologize to anyone for it! Y'all have a great week and we'll see ya next week.

Saturday Summer Concerts in the Vineyard continues less than two weeks from today! Come join us for great music and good vibes in the vines, welcoming the smooth sounds of on Saturday, June 6th!

Music starts around 4 and we'll have the delicious Cluckin Cow Food Truck serving up yummy eats all evening. Bring your picnic blankets and chairs. This one is sure to be packed early!

It's officially less than 2 weeks until Saturday concerts are BACK here in the Vineyard! Grab your comfy lawn chairs, your picnic blankets, and your favorite friends and family and get ready for the dreamy sounds of CHAD LANTZ to kickoff our monthly Summer Saturday Music in the Vines.

Don't forget we also have a weekly Open Mic night featuring amazing local talent hosted by the silky smooth NEVIN, with sign-ups starting at 5pm and live mic at 5:30pm every Thursday evening until 9pm. DCV pairs best with finger pickin' good times - so come jam with us!

Our hearts go out to Wine Grape growers across the Rogue Valley this week. Like many of you, things got very, VERY cold at our Vineyard site this past Thursday night.

Being one of the coldest sites during Spring frost season in Oregon is part of what led us to be the first Vineyard in the state to deploy the beautiful and highly effective to protect our vines from frost.

But even cutting edge technology like Frolight can only do so much when nature charges you at full speed. We are still confirming data, but it appears that we got down to around 21°F this past Thursday night, which would be our coldest post-budbreak frost on record in our time here (previous record was 24°F) at this site.

This is not our first or even second time seeing major crop loss from frost at this site. These are already difficult times for many vino producers. We are saying a prayer for all of our fellow Rogue Valley AVA Wine Growers and others seeing loss across the world (France has had a rough year too).

We hope y'all are keeping your chins up in the face of what looks to be major losses for many in our area. Hope you're all still taking a moment to enjoy the wildflowers. Remember that it's gonna get better even if it doesn't happen today or tomorrow!

✨ More than a year in preparation and planning
✨ 8 weeks of onsite infrastructure/grid improvements
✨ 2 weeks to hang the infrared tube lights
✨ 16 hours today: plugging in, testing & troubleshooting
✨ All culminating in perfect protection for the vines
✨ With literally half an hour to spare before freezing/frost
✨ First Vineyard in Oregon to deploy this technology

It is only fitting that this post is being made at nearly 2 am after a very long work day busting our asses to get this system fired up ahead of a deep frosty night... But IG algorithms be damned!

✅ This means we can sleep from April to June with peace of mind knowing our crop won't be destroyed in one night.
✅ This means no more waiting for hours in the cold of night until the last minute possible before you absolutely must turn the frost protection pump on.
✅ This means in 7 years of farming this sacred ground, we have now reduced our overall water consumption for the Vineyard by more than 90% of its original usage from before we bought the farm.

THIS is infrared frost protection!!!

Big shout out and thanks to the absolutely incredible crew who have been working long, hard hours in the rain and cold to get this thing lit up just in time before a heavy frost tonight. They worked until 11:30pm this evening in the freezIng cold to make this happen for us! Total badasses.

I love it when a good plan comes together...
