Mimi & Poppy's Place We are located in South Alabama, our homestead began with backyard chickens long before 2019.

In that year, we took the leap and purchased 13 acres to expand our dream. Follow along as we continue to grow, explore new projects, and embrace country life.

🍯🍯 We sold out this weekend of the honey we had bottled up. Now we have just finished bottling up some more quarts and 1 lb bottles that will be available today at our Open Gate Day here on the homestead and we'll also have some available this Saturday at Market in the Park.

Tomorrow is our Open Gate Day at Mimi & Poppy’s Place. Come by and see our animals, see how raise our table fare that we offer. We have a cow, sheep, lambs, pigs, chickens, and bees.

We have pasture raised pork, pasture raised lamb, natural foraged 100% raw honey. 🥩🥓🍯

We will have all of this as well as our homemade handcrafted soaps and shampoo bars available in our Soap Shanty. 🧼🛀

🥶🐂 WHEN THE COLD FRONT HITS AND YOUR TODDLER HAS HORNS! 😂🤣

Well, folks, that little cold front blew through Mimi & Poppy’s Place, and apparently, Sir Loin of Semmes took it as a personal invitation to crank up the FRISKY! 🥶💨

Now, for those of you who haven’t met our resident 1,350 pound Holstein bull, let me explain something. Sir Loin may be built like a freight train, but mentally, he’s about the size of a toddler who just discovered he can run! 🤦‍♀️😂

First, he decided his feed trough was a toy. Never mind that it’s supposed to HOLD HIS FOOD. Nope! It was much more entertaining to toss it around like he was auditioning for the bovine Olympics. 🏆🐂

But apparently, throwing his toys around wasn’t enough to burn off all that cold weather energy. Oh no! This big ol’ baby decided he needed a PLAYMATE.

Enter Poppy. 😳

Because nothing says a peaceful evening on the homestead quite like a 1,350-pound bull deciding that YOU are his new favorite toy! 🤣🤣🤣

Sir Loin went from entertaining himself with his feed trough to wanting to entertain himself with Poppy. And Poppy? Well, he’s just trying to survive another day of being the favorite human of a bull who has absolutely NO concept of his own size! 😂

Y’all, this is what happens when a Holstein bull gets a little chilly, a little frisky, and a whole lot of toddler energy. 🐂

Around here, we don’t need a weather report to know when a cold front moves in. We just watch Sir Loin start acting like he’s had three cups of coffee and a bag of candy! ☕🍬😂

We will have all of our homemade handcrafted soaps, shampoo bars, hair and beard care products plus we'll have a taste of the homestead.

We will have a small freezer stocked with our USDA inspected, pasture raised cuts of pork, and pasture raised cuts of lamb, and we'll have our 100% raw naturally foraged honey.
