A feasibility study into the economics of homemade tomahooks for vining crops in the high tunnel this year. The finished product allows you to lower the tomato plant one foot at a time as it reaches the top bar at 7 ft.

Good things happening here on the farm. The high tunnels are finished! I am a little bit behind on greenhouse seed starting a bit this year. Hoewever direct seeding begins this weekend!

Testing out pneumatic wheels on my small tunnel before the big tunnels get here. The old gate wheels came off easily and the bolts were still the perfect diameter for 13 inch pneumatic wheels!

Vegetable seedlings for sale through this weekend. Mostly tomatoes but some pepper as well. Varieties include: red cherry, yellow pear, Roma, orange woodie H, pink Berkeley tie dye H, beefsteak, banana peppers, green peppers, and artichokes. About 20 or so flats right now. $2 a 6 pack. Drop me a line if you plan to come. Evenings Tue, Wed, Thur and all day Saturday and Sunday. We also have fresh eggs too $3/dozen.

We had a great last harvest of "snow-matoes" today to enjoy for Thanksgiving this year! The best part is that I didn't have to do any work for them because the entire hoophouse was full of tomato volunteers this year. Yummy cherry tomato feta salad on the menu for Wednesday. For today I will enjoy a few sliced fresh on a ham sandwich. Also going to eat the last of the red raspberries harvested last week.

It is that time of the year that Hardy Kiwi's are ripening in Pennsylvania. My own young vines will not be producing for another year or two but I am ordering a case of of "Passion Poppers" from KiwiBerry Organics in Danville, PA. Each clamshell package comes to about $7.
