🐣💛 It’s hatching day at Chasing Kaleidoscopes, and my heart is a little fuller today.

There’s something so precious about those first tiny peeps, a little beak working its way through the shell, and a brand-new chick taking its first wobbly steps. Before long, those sleepy little babies are fluffy, curious, and snuggling close together. No, none are perfect, but each one is precious to us

No matter how many chicks we hatch, I still find myself lingering by the incubator, cheering each little one along. The chores can wait a few minutes when there’s a tiny new life making its entrance. 🥰

A heartfelt thank-you to Tommy, Jane, and their family for welcoming us to Scape Ore Farms today. It is truly one of the most extraordinary and beautiful wildlife sanctuaries I have ever had the privilege of visiting.

The bird swap brought together so many people who share a love of birds. It was a joy to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and spend time with people who understand how much these wonderful creatures mean to us.

What made the day especially meaningful was the gracious hospitality of the family who shared this special place with all of us. We left with grateful hearts and beautiful memories.

It is hard to imagine a bird paradise here on earth, but Scape Ore Farms comes as close as anything I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing a little of that paradise with us. 💚

These birds may not have turned out exactly as planned for our breeding projects, but each one is special. They deserve homes where they’ll be loved and cherished for the living works of art they are.

One of my favorite things about raising Silkies is watching each little bird grow into its own personality, color, and beautiful fluffy shape. ❤️

occasionally we have roosters that don’t work for our breeding program, and we offer them as free. Right now we have a few available. I can meet near Seneca, SC or later in the week in Indian Trail, NC. I have a black mottled Satin with leakage, a Black Mottled Silkie with Leakage, a blue rooster and Cochin and hen. A Lavender leghorn, and a beautiful Crested Cream Legbar. Here are their photos.
