What a day at the Severance Farmers Market! ❤️

Our Lumpia Adobo made its debut today and SOLD OUT by 9:45 AM—just 45 minutes after the market opened! I had so much fun creating this one, with shredded pork adobo, crispy pork belly, chives, and crispy garlic, served with our spiced vinegar and heritage atchara. Seeing you enjoy it meant so much to me!

We also sold out of Garlic Fried Rice, Pancit Bihon, and Ube Cheesecake. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, tried something new, and spent part of your Saturday with Lala’s Kitchen. We’re so grateful for this community!

Only two Saturdays remain in the Severance Farmers Market season—October 3 and October 10. Come visit us before the season ends. We’d love to share a meal with you! 🇵🇭❤️

Good afternoon, everyone! ❤️

We have something new for you at Lala’s Kitchen this Saturday, and with the cooler weather, we’re bringing back our Ginataang Manok to warm you right up!

Come see us at the Severance Farmers Market tomorrow, September 26, from 9 AM–1 PM. Here’s what we’re serving:

🍲 Pork Adobo with red onions and Yukon potatoes
🍜 Pancit Bihon with vegetables
🍚 Garlic Fried Rice
🍢 Filipino BBQ Skewers — chicken and pork
🥟 Beef Lumpia and Lumpia Shanghai
🥥 Ginataang Manok — chicken simmered in coconut milk

✨ Making its debut: LUMPIA ADOBO! ✨

I’ve filled these golden, crispy lumpia with shredded pork adobo, crispy pork belly, chives, and crispy garlic. We’ll serve them with Lala’s spiced vinegar and our heritage atchara—pickled green papaya, bell peppers, carrots, and raisins in a ginger-garlic vinegar brine with whole peppercorns. It’s rich, crunchy, and bright all in one bite!

We’re making limited quantities of Lumpia Adobo for its debut, so come early if you’d like to try it. We can’t wait to see you! 🇵🇭

What an AMAZING Saturday for Lala’s Kitchen! Once again, our foodie community showed up hungry, excited, and ready for Filipino food—and you kept us BUSY! 🥰

And now for the question many of you helped us answer...

🥔🧅 THE PORK ADOBO VERDICT!

Last week, I shared that I was taking a little liberty with our Pork Adobo by adding potatoes and onions. Adobo is one of those beautiful Filipino dishes with so many family and regional variations, so I wanted to try something a little different—and most importantly, I wanted to hear what YOU thought.

Well... you LOVED IT! 🙌🇵🇭

The potatoes soaked up that rich, savory adobo sauce, the onions added another layer of flavor, and together they gave the dish more body and heartiness.

So it’s OFFICIAL:

🥔🧅 The potatoes and onions are staying in Lala’s Pork Adobo! 😋

But one of my favorite moments of the entire day had nothing to do with selling out.

A mother came back to our tent and told me that her son is a very picky eater, but he absolutely LOVED, Lala’s Kitchen food! She told me his excitement even influenced his sisters—and then she said:

“I want to hug you for that, Lala!” 🥹💜

THAT is why I love doing this.

Yes, selling out feels wonderful. But knowing that a child tried something different, loved it, and maybe discovered a new appreciation for Filipino food? That means so much more to me.

Thank you to our regulars, our new customers, our fellow vendors, and everyone who continues to support Lala’s Kitchen week after week.
