You know when you are a mom you just know when your kids are either up to no good or there is something wrong.

Well this week we are keeping our grandson's goat because he was worried about her giving birth while he and his family went to the beach, well today was the day!

Its been so nice today I opened the back door so the dogs can go in and out and lay in the sunshine on the porch, and as I was working on some things around the house I heard a goat cry that sounded different.

I went outside and looked and didn't see anything but all of a sudden I heard a new sound which sounded like a baby goat so I did a head count and couldn't find Tammy (Levi's momma goat). Of course, I went down to the goats fence to have a look and this is what I found.

She had given birth to one healthy baby and just had baby #2 when I got down there. Im leaving her alone for a little bit but will check back later to see if they are male or female.

Anyone want to guess? Im guessing 1 girl and 1 boy, stay tuned to find out!!

Yesterday was my 49th birthday and over the past several years I have been busy taking care of animals, my business while working a full time job and just not really making sure I am eating right and taking care of my own personal health or my families personal health. So about a month or so ago I decided it was time to cut out a bunch of junk in our life and quit eating so much over processed food!!

Over the years things have really gotten out of hand for both Scott and myself so I have come up with a new goal of 50 by 50 (50 lbs lost by my 50th birthday) and to tell you the truth I was having a hard time getting Scott on board but after his last physical his blood sugar wasn't looking good so that has helped tremendously motivate him to cut out so many carbs unless he wants to be put on diabetic medications.

We both have been eating better and have already lost a few lbs each but I really needed to get back to walking and this morning I finally got my butt out of bed and went for a walk. It was a beautiful morning and Im looking forward to this new adventure of eating better and getting our butts in gear before we cant move at all!! So here is to living to the fullest but shrinking back down to a manageable waist line! Haha

Here are a couple of pics of my morning walk (the view drom the top of the hill I walk to) and the neighbors cows enjoying their minerals looking like they are putting their lipstick on getting ready to go to town on a date. And last but not least my buddies sitting with me while I do my Bible study outside this morning.

Taking the scenic route through the Smoky Mountains and then grabbing lunch at the Pottery House Cafe with the love of my life: PRICELESS!!

Well, we tried, the market is postponed until 11 today but we just didn't want to get our products out in the rain, set up in the rain and then take down in the rain. I hope the day is prosperous for everyone that has decided to stay!!!

I usually NEVER not attend, even when calling for rain, BUT its been very rainy all morning long, so far, so if you were planning on stopping by to get some products message me and I will be happy to meet you out this week sometime.

The Maryville Makers Market llc is still going on, so later this afternoon do stop by and check out everything! There are still SEVERAL artisans there that would LOVE to see you!!!

Last weekend, coming home later in the evening because of our event we participated in, I watched the moon rise as I milked my girls.

After an exciting and busy weekend, it was nice to be out there with my goats enjoying the cooler weather, the sounds of the farm and to have the time to slow down and catch the beauty of God's creation!

In the rush of every day life, I can easily miss the beauty of it all, but that evening I took it all in and enjoyed every minute of it with a grateful heart!

Hey friends, I will be working hard this week making more lotions, wrapping new cured soaps and more all to bring to the Maryville Makers Market llc THIS Saturday! I sure hope you can make it out! Im praying for another perfect day like last Saturday!

If you have never been, they have some of the most talented artisans in East TN, the craftsmanship in this area is by far the best Ive seen! I always want to shop but end up being much too busy. Not only do they have artisans but also lots of food and fun so be sure to stop and say hi 👋 while you are on the area!
