Couple of stunners born this morning!!!!!!

Our bottle raised doe “Sunshine” gave us a couple of gems today!!! A black dapple doeling and a massive buckling that we have no idea what color he is! Gray/brown dapple? Blonde/red dapple? Gray//blonde/red dapple??? Regardless of color, this lil guy is a tank!!! You know they’re good when you get a black dapple doeling but you’re more impressed by the buckling!!! Apollo is their sire and he is doing a tremendous job this season year!!!!!

Louise, who is one of our “foundation” Nubians kidded about 11 last night. 2 boys and one girl. All are healthy and happy!!!!
We love our Boers but these Nubians take motherhood very seriously and we are grateful for that!!!!

We received a huge load of the best AU Grazer Serecea Lespedeza we have ever had!!! Our goats love this stuff. It’s an all natural dewormer against the barber pole worm and it’s also a great coccidia preventative as well!! We are in Sevierville TN!! We have plenty available. References available!!

As bad as we hated to do it. The decision was made to kill off one our AU Grazer fields and start over. There was simply too much clover in it. For the most part, controlling weeds in the lespedeza can be accomplished fairly easily. But trying to target a legume in an established legume is almost impossible.
Clover is not necessarily a bad thing from a feed perspective, but with lespedeza, there’s a very tight window to bale it for good leaf retention and the clover takes a lot longer to dry down causing higher moisture levels in the bales!
We started over yesterday so hopefully we’ll get a hay crop in August!!

It’s been a “Bucky” year this kidding season with seemingly all the “pretty ones” being bucks. But ol’ Stella girl was our last to kid this season and surprised us by kidding 5 days early. She gave us a beautiful healthy black dapple doeling and a black buckling. This doe gave us our best doe kid last year and I hope this dapple girl is just as good!!

We are done!!!

More color this morning! This first time momma is a daughter to the very best doe we ever had. She gave us triplets this morning. They were all cleaned off but the doe was the smallest so she will be a bottle baby (and possibly available). The two boys are beautiful and doing excellent!

We had fullblood Boer triplets born yesterday morning! The lil’ girl was the weakest so we decided to warm her up and let her be a bottle baby while her two brothers stayed with momma!
We also had our first fullblood Nubian kids born this morning out of our registered “Rizz” buck! No shortage of color this year!!!
With the extreme cold right now, our Premier One heat lamps are absolutely priceless!

It’s that time of the year!!!! First to kid for us was Elana! She gave us two beautiful doelings! We just love those does that you know you’ll never have to worry about kidding. When we went back down to the barn this evening, they were clean and in “milk comas”……For that reason, Elana has a permanent home here!!!!!!
