We just wanted to take a moment and fill folks in on the Farmstand status. Typically between September through December, chickens will go through a molt where summer feathers are dropped in quick succession to make room for fluffier, warmer winter jackets!

This year has not been the exception to this rule with one small detail. Everyone has dropped all of their feathers in what is called a hard molt at the same time. (The pens look like the aftermath of a hardcore pillow fight)

This can leave birds looking and feeling off and uncomfortable while their body use up resources to regrow new feathers in place of providing eggs.

Chickens lay more consistently during late spring and all throughout summer. As days get shorter and colder, the egg production can dwindle and our birds will look a little, ahem.....nekkid.

We will put the Farmstand back out for your convenience as soon as we are consistently getting enough eggs to sustain demand without disappointing folks because they were selling out in less than 20 minutes. Thanks for your patience, stay tuned and send some feather growing vibes our way!
