Bedtime is always insanity. Chaos. Every night everyone goes crazy picking out where they’re going to sleep.
My youngest chicken, Cocoa Pebbles, always has to be right next to his/her big sister Millicent. However he/she has a hard time getting up to the top of the fence to roost next to her. So I thought I would help.
Well.🤦🏼♀️
While holding my arm up waiting for Pebbles to step off onto the fence, Millicent decided to climb ON to my arm. Welp now I had TWO chickens on my arm. I announced my protest. Millicent and Pebbles promptly scooted all the way down my arm to my shoulder…and settled in next to my neck. Guys…this was not the plan. They did not care that this was not the plan. They snuggled up against me even more. It was very sweet, but I was afraid someone was gonna p**p on me. I’ve gone a good long while without getting p**ped on- knock on wood- and I’m proud of that record…so I needed them off. It was bed time and as much as I’d love to have my chickies sleep with me, tonight was not the night. I gently head-butted Pebbles off, but Millicent just switched sides and moved to my other shoulder. Of course. Pebbles got upset and I think that’s what persuaded Millicent to finally exit.
Anyways long story I know, but I just love my chickens and I want to remember this sweet, funny moment with a couple of my feather babies.😆
