Show Me Goat Camp in Macon, Missouri
Our girls just completed their third year at Show Me Goat Camp, and it was another incredible experience. This event showcases the dedication of young people who represent the future of agriculture.
Watching these kids pour their hearts into caring for their animals is truly inspiring. It was wonderful to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new ones. These kids are building lifelong relationships within the agricultural community that will serve them throughout their careers and life.
For a few special days, these young farmers work together, learning farm skills and sharing the responsibilities that come with livestock care.
During the school year, they balance their extracurricular activities with the demanding schedule of animal husbandry. Dairy animals, for example, require milking twice daily, along with regular feeding. Whether they get home at 10 PM or not, they still head out to milk, then wake up at 5 AM to do it all over again. Their commitment is remarkable.
