Chill, mellow vibes in the hive today 🐝
No suit or smoke needed

Now that it’s fall, we reinserted the feeder we used in the spring to provide them with a thicker sugar water to help them prepare for the winter ahead! 🍯 Next month, we’ll insulate and winterize the hive then wish them luck!

🎃 October Employee of the Month 🍂

🧡 Winifred!
Breed: Golden Laced Wyandotte
Age: 5 months old
Egg color: Tan

Thank you to everyone who submitted name suggestions for this love and her two sisters! We ended up going with the Hocus Pocus witches, Winifred, Mary, and Sarah Sanderson 🎃🍁

Winifred is fiercely independent, confident, and stunning! She’s a favorite here, and her black and orange feathers fit the October aesthetic quite nicely 🧡

Congratulations, Winnie!

Just casually bathing my elderly chicken at 9pm 🧼🫧

(She’s totally ok, just old and molting. Then when I brought her in to give her some rest and special treatment, I realized she reeked and had some p**p caked up on her under carriage. Nothing like a little chicken spa to soothe the old bones 🛁🫧)

Reaching new levels of “crazy chicken lady” I never knew were attainable 🐓🧡
