You find out who your friends are when you’ve got pigs out! The past 6 days have been the most stressful, laborious days of homesteading. 4 different fence orientations didn’t keep them following their initial escape including an additional ground rod and 4 hot strands— the bottom being bare wire. There has been heavy machinery operating across the street while locals treat Ross Corner Rd like a 65pmh highway. Total nightmare. But it didn’t matter what time I called Amber— she was at my house within 5 minutes. The most prepared person I’ve ever met. I didn’t just ask for help once or twice. She was here several days working with us to get these pigs caught safely! This isn’t the first time she’s been the most wonderful neighbor and helping hand! She’s answered so many questions and been wonderful! I’m so thankful! She even brought new homesteading friends! A complete stranger to us, willing to help because she asked and we needed it! I can’t thank them enough! Our families came to help with kids, swamp chases and fencing too. I’m thankful that at the end of all of this nonsense, our freezer will be full 🫶🏻

Our piggies have done SO MUCH tilling in the ground! They’re preparing next year’s workable space— pasture, orchard, garden, who knows?! Incredible creatures; no more food waste, uncovering more beautiful soil than anticipated, and keeping themselves immaculate all the while!

Cher and Dionne love their Shaun! They follow him all day! He’s ready for a break from their curiosity but his job hasn’t even started 🤣
Bailey has stressed me out in the best ways. Watching her pregnancy move along has been such a special gift shared! I may be more eager for her babies to arrive than I was when it was my turn 🥹 I’ve thought for 3 weeks “today is the day” but I actually mean it this time 🤞

I’ve been watching Shaun breathe, caught his first turd in a baby washcloth, and have spent hours nap trapped. He’s such a sweetie ❤️
