Brimstone Creek Farm

Brimstone Creek Farm Brimstone Creek Farm is a 4th generation farm in Sharon Springs, NY. We are transitioning from a more conventional way of farming to a more holistic approach.

Raising dairy, beef, laying hens, ducks, lamb, pork, meat chickens, rabbit, and more depending on the season. We want to give as much back to the earth and the soil as we are taking from it. We believe that our animals should live healthy natural lives. Which means that we give our animals the opportunity to do what they thrive doing. Ex. chickens are excellent pest control. We take pride in carin

g what goes into our food. We like to support our local community, which is why we chose to go to a local custom NYS inspected processing facility. As well as a locally owned feed store.

No we didn’t have twins and not tell you, cows are excellent babysitters and will leave one momma in charge of the babies while others are grazing. Tonight it was Daphne’s turn to watch the kids and they seem extra happy frolicking together

I’d say the cows and calves are enjoying the spring temperatures, they have been sunning themselves most of the day.

Humans are also enjoying some blue skies, but now we can see all the projects we want/need to do but are still too frozen to actually do.

It’s alright girls just take your nap, the temperatures lately have everyone feeling their best.
Can always tell when they are content because even with calves getting cookies today they all stayed tucked into the hay.

Jules , our pretty girl up front is our bottle baby from a couple years ago and I couldn’t be more excited for her to have her first baby this year.

Low quality video but sometimes you grab a sneak peak when you can.. tonight it was feeding bales in the dark.

I cannot believe how GIANT these babies are getting.

We have a few more holding in hostages but we couldn’t be happier with this years lambs.

We had triples born yesterday morning and it was all hands on deck. To check mom, get babies dry and started off right. We’re very thankful to have a few extra hands around the farm this week.

Triplets are very exciting but a lot of nerves too. Mom and babies are doing well 24hours later. We’re not totally out of the woods with them yet. But she hasn’t kicked any off which is a fantastic sign.

We did supplement with colostrum replacer to all 3 just to cover our bases but all are lively, nursing, and doing great. We are still offering them all a bottle every few hours they haven’t drank much, which for us means they are getting enough from mom.

Hoping all the posts about them are positive from here on out.
3 little ram lambs makes this years total 16 so far.
