AAAH , finally got all the corn planted before the rain came yesterday . Ground is all worked up ready to plant soybeans ... but we did need the rain , just wish it was warmer !!!

Around here, our definition of motherhood might be a little different…
Sometimes it wears boots. Sometimes it has hooves. 🤍

From the mamas in the pasture/barn who give so much to our farm… to the women behind the scenes keeping this farm (and everyone on it) going — we’re surrounded by some pretty incredible moms every day.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, human and bovine alike🐄🌾, and especially to the moms at Stone House Farm who just “get it” on a whole different level!

Milk in the local store is $5.55 a gallon or $64.53 per hundred pounds... Farmers are getting paid $16 a hundred or $1.38 a gallon... So just so we are clear don't get mad at the farmers for food prices.

Maple season has come to an end here at the farm , we made 1200 gallons of maple syrup ( and who knows how many pancakes we flipped!) . Maple products are for sale at the farm all year . We'll spend the next week filling containers , making cream & candy , and packing it all up for the 59th annual Schoharie County Maple Festival at the fairgrounds in Cobleskill . Hope to see you there !
