Pine Haven Farm

Pine Haven Farm Pine Haven Farm is a small farmette in Sharpsburg, Maryland. We raise MDGA registered Miniature LaMancha and ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats.

We also offer farm fresh eggs. We sell Spring goats kids and the occasional adult goat.

Unfortunately at this time, we are sold out of eggs until further notice.

Most of my flock is molting right now. That means they are loosing old feathers and re-growing new ones. When this happens, chickens stop laying eggs so they can focus their energy on growing the new feathers. The days are also getting shorter and the weather is getting colder....all of which they don't like. My chickens just aren't laying enough eggs to keep up with all the requests for dozens. I hate turning my loyal customers away, but it's just an unfortunate part of the farm life. Once they've finished molting I hope they start laying better again. I will keep you all posted and I appreciate your understanding!

I enjoy making cheese, but I have to say, I have a profound respect for cheese makers who do this for a living. This started out as 1 gallon of whey and the finished product is maybe 1/2 cup! Thank goodness I'm the only one who likes ricotta cheese in this house lol

Cheese making is such a process. But very well worth it! I made 2 kinds of chevre today, Sweet Chili & Garlic and Garlic...

Cheese making is such a process. But very well worth it! I made 2 kinds of chevre today, Sweet Chili & Garlic and Garlic & Herb. They both taste really good! Even Curt likes them so that's saying something lol. I have lot a of whey leftover, and if I have time tomorrow I might try my hand at ricotta cheese! If not, I'll feed it to the chickens. Whey is packed full of protein, vitamins and minerals so I don't want it to go to waste.
