Did you know? This is the sound of money….

It’s weaning day, that means we’ll be selling the calves soon. This sound will be loud at night as well and taper off over 3-4 days. This video shows calves, moms are off screen to the right.

I never tire of the scenery

It was a rainy day for preg checking. Most of the herd looks good! We love our vet Jessica, she’s never afraid to get dirty, works quickly, and is so friendly. She uses a portable veterinarian ultrasound telling us the days an animal is pregnant.

Among other things, Doug and our awesome help also banded bull calves (thanks to Chet Price, Jeff Semler, and Davie Mills). We’re so appreciative that they accept payment in the forms of splattered cow manure, rained soaked clothes, and lunch.

Calves are really growing this time of year and looking good! We have more grass than ever, having so much rainfall this summer.
