A couple weeks ago we were shocked when someone reached out from the The Delmarva Farmer and asked if they could ask us some questions about our business and what led us to scale back.
I know it doesn’t make much sense from the outside looking in, but our family will always be our priority, and when you boil it all down that’s the reason we made the changes we did this year.
At one point in the interview I was asked what I’d want to let people know, and at the moment I was a deer in the headlights, there’s so much I could say, where do I even start? But after giving it some thought I’d say this: it’s ok if you make decisions in your life that don’t make sense to everyone else. God has a plan for your life and that plan might not always make sense to you or anyone else from the outside looking in, and thats ok!
We knew God did not intend for us to live in such a chaotic stressful way as this business grew-I remember praying and begging God to show me a way to do it all; to keep the pumpkin patch going without so much stress and time sacrificed from our family, but we realized that was not his plan for us in this season of life. So, here we are, in this weird transition phase praying that He shows us our new path, and finding our footing while we still try our best to serve our community.
So I encourage you, if you have a hard decision to make and you know in your heart what you need to do, don’t let the fear of what others might think influence that decision. ❤️

Please remember this year we will not be selling pumpkins. We will have them as decorations and photo ops, but none of them will be for sale.

As we approach our fall festival my biggest fear is that people don’t know it’s happening. I still run into people who say they thought we were completely done hosting any events at the farm.
