August's Harvest of the Month is beets!

🥕Beets are root vegetables, belonging to the Amaranthaceae family. Related to other favorites like Swiss chard, spinach, and quinoa.
💪Beets are nutrient rich containing folate, manganese, potassium, and fiber.
💜Beets are naturally very vibrant. The color comes from betalain which is a natural antioxidant.

Students from Boys & Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County harvested beets in the greenhouse just last week!

We're so excited to welcome Hannah, our new Sales & Event Manager!

Hannah joins us with a background in personalized experiences, rentals, and teaching, and she's already bringing so much energy and heart to everything she does. A note from Hannah:

"I'm excited to be joining the Nourish team as the Sales & Event Manager! I was born in southern Indiana and moved to Wisconsin to earn my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Lakeland University. I'm passionate about creating meaningful experiences that bring people together and am excited to be part of the Nourish community. When I'm not at work, I enjoy staying active, trying new foods, reading, and my favorite vegetable is broccoli!"

Day 4! The final day of our Farm-to-Table Summer Camp! ☀

Today was cookout day in the kitchen! The campers made various summer salads and fresh squeezed lemonade to go along with some grilled out favorites. In the garden, they seeded some summer squash and participated in a scavenger hunt that took them all around the farm.

Lots of fun was had and we already can't wait for next summer!
