The grand reveal: here’s the culmination of three days of intensive flower work. Today’s focus was on creating tablescapes and color design, layering blooms with candles, linen, and tableware for a cohesive look. We’re celebrating our hard work with cocktails and dinner. I’m back to the farm tomorrow, but so grateful for this immersive experience to refine my skills.

Workshop Day 3.

Our assignment this morning was to create a centerpiece using one of two pallets: pink/coral or buttery yellows. Here’s what was awaiting us when we arrived in the studio.

Constant Learning, Constant Blooming

Every flower farmer is a lifelong student, and the past two days have been an absolute dream. I've stepped away from the fields for a few days for some professional development, learning from two true masters of floral art, Ariella Chezar and Nicolette Camille.

While yesterday was all about creating stunning statement pieces, today's focus was all about the art of the bridal bouquet. Ariella and Nicolette each demonstrated their distinct techniques, and then it was our turn to get our hands into the flowers and put those methods to the test.

We wrapped up the afternoon with a stunning professional photo shoot. Seeing our work come to life with our model, Celeste, wearing a gorgeous silk ruffled gown by designer, Ulla Johnson, was the icing on the cake. I'll share a few moments I captured in class today.

To say these past two days have been amazing is an understatement. I am completely exhausted from taking in so much new information, but absolutely exhilarated. It is incredibly fulfilling in a creative way, but also in a spiritual sense—bonding with a group of women who are just as deeply passionate about flowers as I am.

It is so incredibly inspiring to learn from the best in the industry. I can’t wait to bring these fresh perspectives, refined techniques, and a whole new wave of inspiration back home to the farm and my own flower studio.

This workshop wraps up tomorrow with creating large-scale flower installations. Thursday morning, it's back to the farm!

Here’s a little tease of what I’ve been up to today.

Flower farming isn’t all just neat rows of petals and morning dew. Our farm is nestled against miles of deep, undeveloped woods, meaning wildlife visits are just a part of daily life here.

Usually, we happily share the space. But today? This juvenile black bear decided my lilac shrubs looked a little too interesting!

Living out here keeps us on our toes. Over the years, our wild neighbors have included plenty of deer, coyotes, bobcats, moose, and even a mountain lion. Some of you might even remember back in 2007 when a wandering grey wolf on our farm made national news! 🐺

We love this beautiful, wild backdrop. It keeps us grounded, deeply connected to the land, and always alert.

Turn your sound on - this guy didn't scram right away when asked to leave.
