We been off of social media for a little while in order to welcome our newest member of our herd.
Meet baby Evelyn Marie Guillemette. She joined us on 11/5/22 at 8:25am, weighing 7lbs 4oz.

(3/3) Here is a perfect example of why cows need their hooves cared for. In this video, you will see how John from Vieta hoof trimming took care of Ms. Piggyโs ulcer and uneven hoof! #pedicure #SupportSmallBusiness #agriculture
(2/3) From start to finish, here is Mason from Vieta hoof trimming doing what he does best! Working side by side with his dad, Gary and his uncle John Vieta, they are so efficient in what they do, they were able to do about 170 cows (including about 30 heifers, 4 steers, and 4 bulls) for us! Along with their efficiency, their set up helps the ladies keep their stress level down and their calm interactions with the cows create a positive environment for everyone involved! Our girls are so thankful for their pedicures ๐ ๐ผ #pedicure #supportlocal #SupportSmallBusiness
(1/3) Keeping our cows happy by ensuring overall herd health, including hoof trimming is an important aspect to our dairy. Cows hooves grow continuously, just like our nails. If cows hooves are not cared for they will grow too long and can alter the way a cow walks. Their uneven hooves can even cause permanent lameness. Their hooves can grow warts, abscesses, and ulcers, which need attention and cannot be left alone. We were so lucky to have had John, Gary, and Mason from Vieta hoof trimming on our farm for two days, giving our girls their own pedicures and individualized care. #farm #supportlocal #agriculture #pedicure #vt
