Dig into the cheesy details:

📅 Sunday, August 10, 2025

📍 Shelburne Farms historic Breeding Barn (Note: this is different that previous years at Shelburne Farms, as their Coach Barn is still under construction; the Breeding Barn is a truly special testament to beautifully preserved 1890s agricultural architecture - we're thrilled to be able to share this kind of rarely seen preservation with all our cheese friends!)

🎟️ Public Hours: 11:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. is open to the public. Chat with cheesemakers and taste their products as well as those from other specialty food and beverage producers. (Don't wait to purchase: this event sells out annually!)

💼 Industry-Only Hours: 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. is sampling with makers for industry folks only (ex: retail shop and grocery buyers, mongers, distributors, food writers/media, etc.). A more intimate opportunity to meet one-on-one with vendors and cheesemakers before the big rush comes in!

ℹ️There's all sorts of important and helpful information at vtcheese.com/festival -- but if you have questions that aren't answered, email us at [email protected]. (We're a small nonprofit staff, so it's easy to overwhelm us with festival love, but we will respond as soon as we're able!)

(Psst: our newsletter subscribers were in-the-know a couple of weeks ago! You, too, can get Vermont Cheese news early and straight to your inbox by signing up at http://eepurl.com/hbXHYn 🧀📰)

And finally: if you're not following our main page at Vermont Cheese Council, please consider it; we love our Festival but we have many more wonderful events and opportunities beyond it!)

We’ve been getting questions about the VT Cheesemakers Festival for this year – so here’s the scoop! This year we faced another challenge in location – again needing a new spot to land for the year. Instead of hosting a single event, we decided to experiment with a new weeklong experience we’re calling Vermont Cheese Week September 7-15. It was created by our cheesemakers for the public - just like the fest has been, so as you can imagine (just like the fest) it's going to be amazing!

It includes a mix of special one-time events (like educational events or pairings & tastings) and all week long happenings (like Meet the Maker tastings, picnics, at creamery activities, and more). Some experiences are small and intimate, while others – like our kickoff bash at Harpoon Brewery – will be 500 of our closest cheese friends gettin’ down and cheesy together! For industry-only friends, cheesemongers, and wholesale buyers – there’s the Vermont Cheese Summit, a sampling, networking, and ed event just for you.

We hope you’ll join us for this awesome week of parties, picnics and cookouts, educational and learning events, cheese camps, tours, and uniquely curated Vermont cheese celebrations!

To Plan: Check the schedule, register for the events you like, and get ready to rub elbows with cheesemakers across the state! Use our profile links to see our calendars and get more info; registration is on each calendar event page - or go here to get a big overview/see it all: www.vtcheese.com/cheeseweek

We’ll be highlighting Cheese Week events on our account more than this account – so recommend scootching over to follow us there if you don’t already:

We were thrilled to bring back the Vermont Cheesemakers Festival for a sell-out crowd of cheese enthusiasts! We have heard from countless attendees how much they enjoyed getting to meet our vendors, attend our cheesemaker discussions and presentations, and experience the incredible cheese and products we featured from across Vermont.

Traditionally held at Shelburne Farms, this year’s event was held at Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro, while Shelburne Farm’s Coach Barn undergoes an extensive renovation and restoration process. Holding the Festival at Highland Center for the Arts allowed us to showcase another stunning area of our state and we are grateful to have had such a beautiful location as a temporary alternative. We are grateful for the overwhelming kindness, support, and patience of everyone as we navigated the weather and rain-related issues that so many are facing this summer in Vermont! Thank you all so very much! ❤️🧀❤️

SOLD OUT!! WE HAVE NO MORE TICKETS AND NO SALES AT THE DOOR!!

We have a ton of industry attendees registered already for the Vermont Cheesemakers Festival.

For those who haven’t checked it out yet: We'll have an education and sampling period JUST FOR wholesale buyers/industry folks. This means you retail and grocery friends, chefs and restaurant teams, distributors, food writers and other industry folks!

You'll get one-on-one time with 30+ cheese producers (and our other specialty food and beverage producers). We did this last year for cheese buyers - and our attendees told us it was useful to have that networking time with producers/each other. We also provide attendees with information on the cheese producers, their products, who they distribute through, and give you distributor contact info. Loads of bang for your buck to attend this!

Inside tip for any wholesale buyers: See if you can visit a cheese producer while in the area the day after the festival. They may have farmers markets/other things to do Saturday before the event, but if you call ahead - you might be able to swing a private tour with them Monday.

Check out our vendor list to see who you can connect with and register at www.vtcheesefest.com

We’re very excited to announce that the Vermont Cheesemakers Festival is back! Woot woot!

When: Sunday August 13.

Where: Shelburne Farm’s Coach Barn is scheduled for a little renovation work in August, so this year we’ll be at a new location. We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro, Vermont. If you’ve not been there – it’s a gorgeous center, and we could not be more excited to share their beautiful space!

Public Hours: 11:30AM-4PM will be open to the public – in all its usual festival delight!! Chat with cheesemakers, taste their products as well as those from other specialty food and beverage producers, attend education and pairing sessions…basically, just an all-around awesome time!

Industry-Only Hours: 9-11:30AM will have education sessions and sampling with vendors for industry folks only (e.g. retail shop and grocery buyers, mongers, distributors, food writers/media, etc.). A FANTASTIC opportunity to meet one-on-one with vendors and cheesemakers before the big rush comes in!

We do expect tickets to sell out in advance of the event. Registration and more info can be found at www.vtcheesefest.com.

For anyone who missed this from out main feed: GIVEAWAY ALERT! With just under two weeks until it starts, we are giving away 8 last minute tickets for the upcoming Vermont Cheese Summit (our industry event designed for cheese buyers, cheesemongers, professionals, chefs/restaurants, retailers and grocery buyers and cheese departments, and other industry/cheese peeps!). In addition to visiting and sampling cheeses from Vermont cheesemakers on both Saturday and Sunday, you’ll be able to attend three educational sessions from Vermont cheese professionals:

Matt Benham from Jasper Hill Farm will start the day off with Growing Great Cheese: How Feed Influences Flavor. To follow that up, you’ll hear from four creameries pursuing sustainability goals at four very different operations and scales – including some of our biggest AND smallest cheesemakers from across Vermont. Finally, we’ll wrap the day up with Professor Paul Kindstedt, author of American Farmstead Cheese and Cheese and Culture. He’ll explain why Vermont cheesemaking is such a success in The Napa Valley of Cheese: What makes Vermont cheese so special?

We’re super excited to have this awesome speaker line up! If you are a cheese buyer, monger, distributor, chef, retail or hospitality staff person, food writer, food and farming industry researcher, restaurant or food industry peep of any kind, or devoted cheese lover (or just someone who wants to learn more about Vermont cheeses!) – this is a great event for you to attend to really get that first hand taste of Vermont cheeses from makers across the state, not to mention a really fun weekend to dive into and just enjoy yourself at!!

How to enter: (1) Tag three friends you think would like to attend this awesome event. (2) Follow Vermont Cheese Council, Vermont Creamery, and Cabot Creamery Co-operative – our Platinum Sponsors for this event! We’ll announce winners Friday! Multiple entries accepted!

And we have opened up some extra tickets so we have some more available even if you can’t enter or don’t win! Tickets at www.vtcheese.com/summit2022 (link in our profile!!)
