Before they were a fall staple… candy apples were actually created right here in Newark, New Jersey 🍎

Back in 1908, a candy maker named William W. Kolb was experimenting with red cinnamon candy for Christmas. He dipped apples into the mixture just to showcase the candy in his shop window…

People saw them, and immediately started buying them.

What started as a display trick turned into one of the most iconic treats of all time.
