LH Pine Hill Farm

LH Pine Hill Farm We are breeders of quality purebred Finnsheep. Breeding for excellent temperment, quality fleeces, and Finn milk to make rich creamy Finnsheep milk soap.

My sister Lori always wanted sheep but where she lived didn't permit it. She wanted to start spinning her own wool, her daughter is also into spinning and is busy with 4 children and no farm, and now that I think about it she started it all LOL. Lori talked to me about it, and took me to a fiber festival. She showed me what all can be made with wool. She also fell in love with the Shetland breed o

f sheep down at the festival in Allegan Mi. I had a farm and told her if that's what she wanted to do I'd be willing to jump in this venture also, I no longer work and neither does my sister. So we wanted something that we could do and keep us busy plus make some money at doing it. I keep the sheep at my farm. She lives in my home town of Caro Mi and i live on the west side of the state in Shelby Mi. So we got two Shetland ewes that were already bred last year 2015. Lambing time was very exciting time for us, we had the lambs and also milked the mothers to make sheep milk soap. Then I read about Finn sheep so we looked into them, they are also a great fiber sheep and known to be very friendly. So now we have both kinds. Were mainly focused on the Finn. We have two wethered Shetlands now and will be getting a pregnant Shetland ewe after she is bred in the middle of Dec of 2016. We are going to be making things out of wool and have some sheep milk soap available next year. So that is how this all began the LH Pine Hill Farm. LH stands for Lori and Holly in case you didn't catch that. Thanks for visiting our page hope you enjoy it.

Is anybody out there interested in a couple of white ewes that were out of Buttercup and Noodles? The people that have them no longer want them and they have had lambs this last spring both are registered with FBA. I think they're one and a half years old. Still young a good loving home is a must.

Today was soap making day. We made 48 oval honey oat meal sheep milk soap, and 12 muffin size samples. People seem to really like our soap. We dont get fancy. We make plain, honey oat meal and lemon grass. We sell it in Frankenmuth at Healthy Habits, Thumb meat market in Caro, we have repeat buyers in Michigan fiber festival. We also sell right here at LH Pine Hill farm if anyone is interested.

I forgot to mention someone I know has 2 white ewe out of Buttercup and Noodles for sale. I believe they are pure white. They are not going to breed and told me they are looking for a home for them. They both had lambs this year. We cant take them although id love to, but I could only bred them to one of our rams. If we do ever buy another ewe I'd like to get one that I could change out if I wanted to breeding to either of our rams.

This is a lamb ewe we sold to a friend and her little girl showed Lucy. It was so fun watching these two.

We took a first on one of Minnys fleeces this year and last year. Penny took a 2nd on her fleece. Our ram Mack took 4th on his fleece this year at the Allgan Michigan Fiber festivale. I dont have a picture of Pennys because it was auctioned off. We did pretty good in our sales of soap, raw wool, bags, and dryer balls. So all in all good year. We didn't have lambs they all sold before the festival.
