B & C Farms A local farmstead with the goal of being as self sufficiency as possible. We are a small family farm that produces cage free fresh eggs.

While also offering our community a variety of items such as chicken eggs, chicks,duck eggs, ducklings, turkey poults, and piglets from time to time, and fresh produce in season. During the growing season we raise and sale produce like corn, green beans, squash, cucumbers, and much more.

Well turkey hatching is done for this round!! We ended up with 10 brand new Bourbon Red poults out of 14 possible eggs. That’s about a 72 % hatch rate, not bad, but we was hoping for a higher. 🥚🦃🥚🦃

The quail got an updated brooder today!! We more than doubled their living space, and in the process we was able to count them during the change over. We have have a total of 72 week and a half old Coturnix quail!! We hatched 78, so we lost 6 of the very smallest and weak ones. Hopefully we will be able to raise the rest out to maturity in about 5 and a half weeks.

Well hatching is finished!! We ended up with 78 quail out of 96 eggs!! That’s an 81% hatch rate which is not bad at all....

Well hatching is finished!! We ended up with 78 quail out of 96 eggs!! That’s an 81% hatch rate which is not bad at all. Hatching took about 2.5 days after it started. Now we start the process of raising these little birds. In just a short 6 to 7 weeks they will reach full maturity and start laying eggs. At that time we will also start setting up our breeding groups, and processing any males we have in excess.
