Skinner Farms

Skinner Farms We are Amy and Dan Skinner, proud owners and managers of Skinner Farms. Skinner Farm is owned and operated by Dan and Amy Skinner.

We raise pastured pork, chicken, turkey, eggs, and honey on our green, grassy pastures in rural Shelby County, Kentucky. The farm is located in rural Shelby County in Central Kentucky. We are a small, local, environmentally conscious farm, and we take extra measures to ensure that our animals are raised as humanely and naturally as possible. Our chickens, hogs, and turkeys are raised on our green

pastures right here in Shelby County. We take great pride in growing happy, healthy animals that, in turn, give our customers the best tasting, most nutritious meat for their families.

The ugly bacon sale is back! There’s nothing wrong with this bacon. It’s just not pretty. Our kids had it for breakfast and Tilden said it was DELICIOUS 😅 Of course it was…it’s Skinner Farms bacon!

Find it on our website and pick up a bundle here on our farm or at the farmers market this weekend! It never hangs around long when these sales happen!

I will never not be amazed at how the knotters on a hay baler can actually tie a knot. I watch it every time we bale.

There’s something to be said about the rhythm of the baler too. Farm life is the best life ❤️

Have you ever wondered if chickens actually eat grass?

I didn’t think meat chickens did. I was wrong.

Nutrient dense, higher omega 3s, higher vitamin E, and they’re fertilizing the field as they go. I mean the grass in that field is almost to my shoulders 🐓🌱

Our first group of chickens moved out to pasture Monday. Our grass is so green and thick this Spring, and the weather has been just perfect for these guys!

Our chickens are raised right here, on our farm, by us. They always have access to clean grass, sunshine, and fresh air. We supplement with non-GMO feed and we use food grade buckets, hoses, feeders, and waterers. Skinner Farms is a good place to be a chicken 😊

We’re doing the best we can to produce the best food for our family and for yours.

Come see us this Saturday from 9-12 at our farm store. We’re restocking pork today and we have plenty of chicken, eggs, and beef available!
