Our home was filled with family and friends all Christmas break. What a blessing it is to count those you love on both hands. Don’t forget about your chickens in this cold, cold weather. In the kitchen today, we are cooking up deviled eggs, stew, homemade bread, and stewed apples. We take the scraps and cook them down into a stew for the chickens and place it in their coop with them. It’s served at room temperature, in a wide bowl, in hopes to help keep them warm and healthy this winter.

Did you know… Free Range Chickens can lay eggs in many different places besides the coop because they will seek out a safe, private spot to lay their eggs. To avoid this you can leave them in the coop until after their morning egg-laying time, or you can go on a daily egg hunt!
