One of our older does was sick yesterday, stopped eating. I believe she had rumenal stasis, she was moaning, lying around & kicking at her belly. I read that you could drench a dark beer to them (warm and flat) and it would jumpstart rumen activity again. I was scared to do it, but didn't want to risk losing her. Guess what?!?!? It worked. I drenched 2oz twice lastnight of a dark Lager beer. Went out this morning and she had scoured a little but was hungry, eating grass, standing and acting like herself. Sometimes you have to try what works for others and go with the flow👍🏼
