Unless you have a strict HOA that prevents it, there’s no reason you can’t grow food in your front yard. This year, I’m focusing on growing tomatoes and peppers in my landscaping both in large pots and right in the ground next to the ornamental plants. Don’t forget! You can buy the rare and unusual tomato and pepper plants I grew this year at Harvest and Hearth Furniture & Decor on State Rd. 44 in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Saying goodbye to so many beautiful Spring blooms that did their part to bring joy into the world (and especially into my life).

The ranunculus corms that I started back in March and then mostly neglected for the last two months are liking the attention I gave them by potting them up and placing them centerstage in the front yard botanical garden. I love the soft pink color. I’ll have to take more videos and pictures as they mature and develop their deeper colors at the edges and green centers.

If I could turn back time I’d tell myself to take a few more chances and risk a little bit more than I did. I arrived at happiness anyway, but there is a pinch of regret mixed in with my recipe for being okay with the life I’ve lived. Go ahead and do the things you really want to do. Take the chance.

Gardeners get it. An orphaned plant that just needs a little TLC is hard to pass by when it’s 75% off (or more)!

It doesn’t look like we’re going to experience any more 30-something degree temperature nights, so it’s finally time to plant the garden. Woo-hoo!!
