Cannon Ridge Ranch

· I was born on a 500 acre Jersey Dairy Farm between Brentwood and Franklin, Tn in May 1953. My dad ran about 100-125 head of Grade A Jerseys. In 1958 my dad was awarded the top Milk producer in TN due to his being in front on installing leading dairy milking technology. The girl in the picture is my sister petting A-53 heifer that will sell in Nov sale. I have also attached a picture of her

with one of our calves. My mom and dad sold the farm in 1962.
· Served in the Army; 1975-2008 in locations in the US and Worldwide. I was in operational assignments with the Field Artillery from 75-85. From 85-08 worked developing and building major weapons systems for the Army. Worked for Raytheon from 2009-2013 in McKinney, TX working their advanced systems and programs.
· Leah and I married in 1978 in her home state of Kansas. We have two boys, 4 grandkids (2 girls and 2 boys) and the greatest daughter-in-law, Leslye, from Millington, TN . My oldest son, Charlie is serving in the Army in VA. My youngest son, Chris, also served in the Army and now works for Activison in CA.
· Leah and I purchased a 220 acre piece of land in Dec 2012 that now we call Cannon Ridge Ranch, Shelbyville, TN. Since purchasing the land we have erected a barn, working chutes with pole barn and began fencing in about 150 acres of the 220. We are also now building our new home on the ranch.
· Our goal is to have about 50 registered Black Angus and raise the finest calves we know how. Our culture will be to only breed our mother cows via AI allowing only nature births. We will strive to have cows and calves with the Greatest CEDs; Soundest in their body structure, highest $W and $B and be able to enjoy our cattle through their life span with Cannon Ridge Ranch.
· Leah and I purchased 10 pregnant registered Black Angus mother cows from Wayne Banner in Sept 2013. Since then we have purchased cattle in ND, OK, AL, VA, IL, IN, GA and TN.
· Currently we have 16 mother cows, 9 yearlings, 3 spring calves, 7 calves we have had in the last 10 days and 6 heifers will sell in Banner Angus Farms sale this Nov.
