Announcing: Tinkergarten joins Highlights for Children
Today, Tinkergarten is becoming part of the Highlights for Children family, joining on with an organization that for more than 75 years has taught and delighted so many of us, our parents and our own children. You can read more about the acquisition, mission alignment, shared ambition, and common commitment to quality learning experiences for kids.

Across 4 generations, Highlights has remained steadfast in its mission and commitment to children as the world’s most important people, supporting parents, teachers and kids with purposeful fun designed to help kids become creative, caring, curious and confident people. This sort of long term commitment is rare in business, and especially in education with all of its complexity and inherent challenges.

That’s why our decision is different. This is a unique chance for Tinkergarten to continue to make a lasting, meaningful impact for generations to come. Dear Friends, as you know, I like to keep my prices for my explorers and their families as low as possible. This in turn makes my classes accessible to more families. However this means I absorb most of the costs that would naturally roll down to my families.
To help keep registration costs down, I will be keeping a Wishlist on amazon open for needed books and materials that are all for my classes.
Thank you all for helping me keep my prices low for our local families!!

My fall classes are open for enrollment!

Classes kick off September 7th! We’re following the Tinkergarten “Wellness” curriculum—a combination of physical, mental and emotional health. It includes irresistible play activities that help kids develop strong bodies, minds and hearts!

We’ll meet at the Shell K**b Recreation center (CCC Camp for us locals) on Thursdays at 2pm. To Register fill out the attached form and submit, its never too late to join! {{Classes are designed for kids ages 1.5-8 yrs and a caregiver, and I can’t wait to connect with you!}}

Let's welcome March’s Full Moon, also known as the Worm Moon! 🪱
For many years, it was believed March’s Worm Moon name was from earthworms making their way out of the soil (and thus becoming a meal for robins and other birds – a sign of spring!). However, more research has taught us that the Naudowessie people and other Native American tribes refer to this moon as the Worm Moon after beetle larvae that emerge from thawing bark during the end of winter — another wonderful sign that spring is on the way.
The full Worm Moon will reach peak illumination on the morning of Tuesday, March 7th, so it will appear full as it rises above the horizon on Monday and Tuesday evening!
The full moon invites us to slow down and reflect on the changes we see in our world and offers so many super learning opportunities for kids (including bringing them closer to nature!) This month is a perfect chance to lean into mud play where we might even discover our worm friends! The snow has begun to melt, the ground has begun to soften as it thaws, and the earthworms start to appear! Spring is coming, thus this month's full moon is known as the Worm Moon. Variations on this full moon's name, including The Crow Moon for the return of the cawing crows, The Crust moon for the formation of snow crusts from thaw and freeze cycles, and The Sap Moon for when the maple trees are ready to tap.
