I have 5 checkens that will not go in the coop at night. The others put themselves to bed inside, but these 5 stay out and lay on the ground though there are places they can roost outside also.

Other than having them for 45 minute, his do I get them to start going in at night?

We get almost a dozen eggs a day from the chickens so, we just water glasses our first batch. The are supposed to stay good up to a year this way.

Mom also made a lot of tomato soup last month. Monica found a Tomato Soup Cake recipe....so mom made Tomato Soup Cake tonight also.

It tastes like a spiced cake almost like carrot.

Time to switch to hay. This is the first sighting of new babies. If they all took, there should be more and more coming out as I breed the 4 does a week apart.

Got c***s!!. Locked the dogs up with the gots for a few night of chasing vehicles......=5 dead chickens.

Setting out four traps this evening and letting the girls out.

A sad day today. Just returned from the vet with Esther. Her leg was swollen after her night if running around. She has a sub-luxated ankle. I thought well just pop it back in place....right!

It requires orthopedic surgery. Depending on how bad it could require plates and screws. Was quoted anywhere from 6k to 8k $.

It is super sad. She is only a year old and very sweet. She would make a great service animal.

If anyone has any suggestions or resources to call that do not result in putting her down. I would love to hear them.

Got chicks yesterday and 2 have hard lumps in the hind end. The pick is of the worst one. The other is small.

I understand that they may get backed up. I am heading into town in the morning to get a water supplement, but is there anything from the kitchen that will work? I though about a little plain yogurt in the water but do not know if that will hurt them either.
