We've just welcomed a brand spankin' new walk-in freezer to the farm, compliments of the Local Food Infrastructure Grant we were awarded earlier this year!

This represents a huge step up in our overall freezer capacity. It will make producing pasture-raised meats and filling orders much more efficient moving forward.

A HUGE thank you to our local partners who supported our grant application:

The Harbor Fish Company
Home Meat Service
Colvin Ranch
MTA Ranch

Yet another example of how the local food system thrives when we work together!

These wild Alaskan salmon fillets from are a welcome addition to our freezers... and meal plan!

That dark color? 100% natural, unlike the artificially dyed farmed stuff you'll find in the grocery stores.

We've partnered with these amazing folks to bring you a 10 pound Wild Alaskan Salmon Share, currently available for pre-order on our website.

Just a little lemon juice and sea salt (like the sea salt from pictured here!) and you've got a delicious meal and maybe even some leftovers 😋

If you enjoy our pasture-raised meats, we're sure you'll love this incredible salmon!

We commissioned this illustration from the talented local artist to capture the essence of Hungry Hollow, and we couldn't be happier with the result!

Pictured here is a Hereford cow, Berkshire pig, and Rhode Island Red rooster living amongst the lush pastures and forests of the PNW.

Our thesis is simple:

1. The animals in our food system deserve to live as active ecological participants.

2. Good animal husbandry is the basis of sustainable agriculture.

3. Straying from this path damages our health, pollutes our environment, and severs the connection between land, animal, and human that has sustained our communities for millennia.

Thank you Molly for bringing this vision to life!

1888. The year my great grandfather left Kansas and settled here at Hungry Hollow in what was then the Washington Territory.

Washington would become the 42nd state the following year, and the nearby town of Sheltonville would be incorporated in 1890.

He most likely took a train across the plains to Tacoma and a steamboat down the Puget Sound.

At the time, there were about 4.5 million farms in America. He started one of them.

Today there are fewer than 1.9 million. The vast majority of farms from 1888 are long gone, wiped out by the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, two world wars, mechanization, industrialization, and the 1980s Farm Crisis when 1 in every 3 U.S. farms went bankrupt.

138 years later, we're still here. Still raising animals on pastures. Still feeding our neighbors. Still farming.

Some things are worth holding onto.

#1888

Washington 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef, pasture raised chicken, pastured pork, and pastured turkey. Washington's best ethical meats. Sustainable local meat delivery serving Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Bremerton & more.

Thanks Bethany for supporting us from the beginning!

This is a throwback to one of our earliest Google reviews.

Nine years later, we're still thrilled to be providing the Puget Sound region with a convenient, local, pasture-based alternative to factory farms.
