Well we got to use our brand new trailer today! The horses decided to get out and eat a lot of chicken feed last night😑 So they got to go see the vet, drugged, have a tube shoved up their nose, and stomachs pumped out. They're doing fine and not showing any signs of colic. More worried about all the sugar they ate now. Hopefully they're regretting their late night decisions. The new trailer is pretty nice though 😂 All steel, even the roof, so maybe it'll survive the next storm unlike the last trailer.

Welp, the chickens will be going back to the winter coop sadly. Looks like we're going to be getting our first frost and possible snow of the season this weekend. With all this talk of this winter being abnormally warm, I was hoping they'd be able to stay out longer. Maybe they'll go back out if it warms back up.

Big thanks and shout-out to my dad and Sarah's brother Matt for coming out and helping. We got all the big stuff cut up, cleaned out, and winter coop good enough despite getting record breaking rain all weekend. Billings broke the all time record with over 3 inches, we got a little over 2 inches. Everyone was soaked. The pastures are turning green again though so the chickens will get a little more time out there, all depends when our first frost comes. We cleaned up a decent area for them to keep grazing.

Well we got the run cleaned up and put up some corral panels so the horses can get outside. However, they're stuck inside today because we've got a windstorm 😑 It's gonna be a stressful day worrying about all this debris flying around. 20-35 mph sustained winds with gusts up to 50 mph. Moved the chickens last night behind the winter coop where they'll be a little more protected. Can't put them in it yet because it took some damage and I need to clean/repair it before I feel comfortable moving them in. Here's to hoping none of this debris causes more damage or hits the animals 🙃 Have I mentioned how fed up I am with mother nature the last 2 years?

Little update. The animals are good, stressed, but good. We've seen all 15 barn cats and none of them were hurt thankful...

Little update. The animals are good, stressed, but good. We've seen all 15 barn cats and none of them were hurt thankfully.The chickens are still laying 65+ eggs a day like nothing happened. The horses are getting a little crazy as they've been stuck in the barn, all the fencing is down and we don't need them stepping or accidentally ingesting glass/nails. I was able to get the tractor out. It was pushed about 5 feet sideways and had stuff all over it. The biggest damage to it is the Roll Over Protection bar is bent but the loader isn't so that's been a huge help. The excavator is another story. It's leaning sideways, my office walls are laying on top of it and it's only being held up by my air conditioning unit with a massive puddle of hydraulic oil under it. The cleanup crew is starting this afternoon after the insurance inspector comes and the fencing contractor was just here to figure out what's needed to at least get the run off the barn back up for the horses. The barn has minor roof damage but it held and the engineer we had out said it's still structurally sound which we are super thankful for. The majority of my tools survived as well which is awesome (the toolboxes they were in not so much). A few are under a wall so I haven't been able to get to them. There is a weather system moving in this weekend that could dump some rain on us. It'll be the only time I don't want it to rain for once so it'll probably happen 😂

FIRST AND FOREMOST, SARAH, HORSES, CHICKENS, DOGS, HOUSE CAT, AND I ARE SAFE. Yeah, we had another insane storm come through at 230am. The garage/shop are gone along with a lot of other stuff (you can see our neighbors barn disintegrated as well). The house shifted about 2 feet of its foundation. As you can see it's way worse than last year damage wise but we didn't lose any chickens so it's all good (they didn't even get wet). They were right in the path of the microburst or tornado, whatever it was, and 3 inch hail 😑. All of my eggs were in the shop so sorry if you ordered eggs this week. I have no idea when I'll be able to sell eggs again. We'll be fine. I want to brag because the only thing wrong with the chicken tractors is dents from the hail 😂 even the paint stayed on. My new design worked perfectly.
