Today I am beginning the not so pretty part of growing dahlias... digging them all up!

Dahlias are grown by tubers that cannot freeze so they need to be dug up and planted again every year.

The cool thing is that as they are producing beautiful flowers they are also multiplying their tubers under ground. So as long as I can properly store them over the winter, I will have many many more to plant next year!

We got our first killing frost last weekend.

It is always sad to see the season come to an end but I do love the beauty of the first frost!

This is a picture from one of the many classrooms I donated mini pumpkins to 😊

The teachers do a great job of making it a fun educational activity. From using it as a creative project to naming and writing about their pumpkin pal; the students are using their imagination and working on writing skills without even realizing it! 😁🎃

She intentionally puts her frisby in whatever I am using so I have to throw it for her...smart but annoying! 😅

Crazy as it may be, I picked some fresh flowers and made up some bouquets this morning!

Let me know if you would like one to brighten your day or to share with a loved one! I even made a CMU colored one with their homecoming this weekend.

These are most likely the last bouquets I will have available for 2025!
