Sugar Hill Farm

We enjoyed a short trip to the AG Progress Days in State College PA! It was good to speak with vendors and fellow growers.

Anna learned a lot about pumpkin growing and the fact that even around new machinery, Ed still spends the most time looking at the older green tractors 😂

Bevan sustained a spinal cord injury after a farm accident! Please share or donate if you can to support this hard working family.

We have been honored to help them this summer to get their hay ground done. This accident was a reminder just how dangerous farming is.

Dear Community, Our friend, Bevan Jones, was seriously in… Wendy Gillette needs your support for Support Bevan's Recovery After Tragic Farm Accident

This warm weather has us (and our supervising puppy Maple) busy! Ed has begun prep for hay season and started on corn planting! 🌽

Just a reminder as the weather warms up- please be patient around large farm equipment. We are moving as fast as we can safely and sometimes make wide turns to enter field driveways! We want you and us to make it home to our families!

Another post for Throwback Thursday! This white farm house is currently lived in by Ed & Anna Geier, the fifth generation on the farm. Four generations have lived in this home, but many families and friends have memories from 4H meetings, barbecues, and stopping to chat.

Fun fact: while attempting to get insurance, it was discovered the house was registered as a residence in 1810!

This warm weather has us excited for NYS maple season! We have been hard at work tapping trees, getting sap tanks set up, and prepping the sugar house.

Our regular hay deliveries still happen despite all the extra work happening at home! This one is headed to Canterbury Connecticut!

Four years ago Maple joined our family! She has greeted many hay customers, ridden in many tractors, and gone on many hay deliveries! Most importantly, she continues to protect our little slice of heaven! Happy gotcha day Maple! 🍁❤️

Today we are posting a Throwback Thursday! This picture is of Leroy, Violet and Dale Goodrich (Ed’s great grandfather, great grandmother and great uncle) in front of the silo in October of 1971! These are the second and third generation of our fifth generation family farm. We are proud to carry on the legacy!

We often joke about how we are the young and dumb kids who chose to take over the family farm but we genuinely have no regrets. This statistic is SCARY. 38% of farmers are over retirement age and there’s not enough young people getting into farming to replace them.

Here’s to the end of 2025 and the start of a new year!
