Weāre thrilled to share that our very own Adam and Amanda Bunker have been named finalists for the National Outstanding Young Farmer awards. This program recognizes farmers and ranchers who are leaders in their fields as well as the community.
While many of you have likely seen Adam in the greenhouses, you may not know that he also serves as the President of the Wyoming Food Coalition and as part of our local Rocky Mountain Farmers Union chapter (Big Horn Mountain Farmers and Ranchers). Through those organizations, heās worked hard to foster local foods and small producers - advocating on those topics to both state and federal legislators, and building bridges throughout the community to help fellow producers.
Adam also coordinates and personally leads many of our educational tours, as well as heads up our internship program.
Amanda is also a tremendous part of our success - personally handling our seed starting, germination, and seedling care. She seeds between 1,000-1,500 plants every week, depending on the season. She also manages our accounting, and, until recently, produced the majority of our value-added products.
And while we are immensely proud of these two, we also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our community and our supporters. Growing this business has been a tremendous journey, and we could not have done it without you.
We wish these two the best of luck when they travel to Pennsylvania in two weeks! And when they get back, there will be plenty more work to do.
As we announce the class of 2026 NOYF finalists, weāre shining a spotlight on Adam and Amanda Bunker of Sheridan, Wyoming. After a decade in marketing and strategy, Adam made a bold career shiftāleaving corporate work to pursue farming full-time alongside his father-in-law. Today, Adam helps lead Papa Joeās Produce, a hydroponic greenhouse operation rooted in science, efficiency, and water conservation. Through innovation, data-driven systems, and sustainable practices, the farm provides fresh produce to hundreds of families each month. Alongside his wife Amanda, Adam is committed to strengthening local food systems, educating future growers, and proving agriculture thrives when innovation meets purpose.
