Culinary Partner Spotlight- The Cake Chic

Jaci Schmidt, a talented cake artist locally known in Sheridan as The Cake Chic, is slated to grace Wine Fest with an incredible line up of desserts. “I have gained quite a following in town, and I am excited to be able to be involved in this event.” Says Jaci.

Jaci specializes in cakes for a broad range of occasions, from stunning wedding cakes to custom designs for any celebration one could think of, making her creations a highly anticipated partner at this year’s Wine Fest, and welcome confections to complement the selection of wines being offered from all over. “Desserts and wines pair well together.”

To those with a sweet tooth and who appreciate visually breathtaking cuisine, Jaci’s cakes are a must-see and must-taste at this year’s event.

Culinary partner Spotlight- Ohla's Market

Ohla’s Market, a beloved local bakery and bistro featuring traditional European inspired cuisine and refreshments, is no stranger to Wine Fest. Ohla Wasitowski and her team are excited to once again make their mark, and are bringing a fresh line up of dishes they are enthusiastic to share with Wine Fest attendees. “Very, very excited and very proud of what I do. I think people love our food, and this year I just want to do something different,” said Ohla.

In anticipation for this year’s Wine Fest, Ohla just wants attendees to come ready to experience amazing international cuisine that captures and illustrates her experiences and love for all things food. “I just want to let people know to taste the food, and it will say everything.”

Culinary Partner Spotlight-The Wandering Chef, John Ryan

Chef John Ryan, owner and representative of the full service chef-for-hire company, The Wandering Chef, has over 20 years of experience in the culinary industry across many various types of dining. Chef Ryan’s anticipation for Wine Fest is linked to partnerships and relationships he has developed in Wyoming, and especially the Sheridan area. “Sheridan is an easy city to shop in if you’re a chef,” says Ryan.

Though he prefers to work quietly, events like Wine Fest allow an opportunity to showcase his love for the culinary, as well as incorporate his other passion, educating others.

These two components have connected Chef Ryan with students and unique figures of all levels, with whom he has been able to share his gift of creating incredible flavors and quality dishes.

Leading up to Wine Fest, John has some well-said messages: “We can eat Wyoming. It is a remarkable and delicious state to eat your way across.”

Culinary Partner Spotlight - Java Moon

Owner Megan Cook and head baker Tehya Fulkerson are excited to showcase what Java Moon is all about at this year’s Wine Fest. This downtown icon has vastly expanded their catering operation as a result of consumer demand.

“There is a lot of people that have never been to Java Moon but they go to events like Wine Fest. I think it’s really fun to get involved in the community like that.” Says Tehya.

Java Moon is well-known in the community and downtown for their incredible food and drink, and will be showcasing a selection of artisan desserts at Wine Fest. “It’s a fun opportunity for people to try some of our really great sweet treats, and maybe they can tell us which ones pair well with the selection of wines,” said Megan.

Java Moon will be out in full force this year at Wine Fest this Saturday to present the best they have to offer.

“Our mission is community, and we love what the DSA does for our downtown.” Says Megan.

Culinary Partner Spotlight- Frackelton's

Tim Kerr, manager of Frackelton’s is looking forward to Wine Fest this year and the opportunities it presents for people to get out of their comfort zone, and for chefs to be able to innovate. “I think it’s just cool to give the kitchen staff a little bit of freedom to be able to work around and try and play with different stuff and flavor pairings.”

Despite being well established in the Sheridan Downtown, and the community at large, Frackelton’s continues to strive to develop their well-earned reputation for multiple aspects, from an amazing cocktail program, to the service experience, and everything in between.

Maxwell Foster is a local Private Chef with experience in all facets of the restaurant industry. His aptitude for the culinary arts and sharing his passion for creating different flavors and tastes makes him excited to showcase a unique line up of creations at an event like Wine Fest.

“It’s a great opportunity for the public to see and experience new things.” Maxwell also has vast experience in the realm of wine and spirit tasting. “The marriage between food and wine can be very underutilized.” says Maxwell. Not only in the realm of wine and food pairing, but in preparation and cooking with wine itself, an area in which Maxwell is well versed. When he isn’t creating in the kitchen, he is also a small business owner and is skilled in many other areas.

This year at Wine Fest, Maxwell encourages attendees to take advantage of the vast variety of offerings and not to limit themselves. “It’s a great premise to try everything. If you don’t like lamb in general then you might enjoy the way this other person has prepared it.”
