Today, we pause to recognize the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who have shaped our lives through their hard work, sacrifice, guidance, and quiet example. Whether they served their family, their community, or our nation, their influence is felt in the values they passed down and the memories they helped create. From all of us at Iron Soldiers Coffee Company, we wish you and your family a blessed and meaningful Father's Day.
One of my favorite memories of my father goes back to when I was a young boy and he was building homes. Long before the sun came up, we would head into town and stop at the local donut shop for breakfast. From there, we'd make our way to Foxworth, the local hardware store. To this day, I can still remember the smell of fresh-cut lumber and sawdust in the warehouse as we loaded materials for the day ahead.
Once we arrived at the jobsite, the work began. Air hoses would be stretched across the floor, electrical cords rolled out, and the sounds of hammers and saws would soon fill the air. What I remember most, however, were the small details. When a piece of trim or a corner cut wasn't quite right, my father never settled for "good enough." He would measure, figure, mark, and cut. If it didn't fit perfectly, he'd do it again. And again if necessary. He taught me that quality wasn't something you talked about—it was something you demonstrated through patience, pride, and doing the job right.
Looking back, I realize those early mornings weren't just about building houses. They were about building character, work ethic, and an appreciation for craftsmanship. Those lessons have stayed with me far longer than the smell of sawdust, and for that, I am forever grateful.
