Cannot recommend Longfeather Lane enough! This lady has serious knowledge - I just had to smile and nod through some of what she was saying about her lines, I know how to care for quail and how to appreciate the color blue and that’s it 😆 — she’s a master at cotournix, has the most gorgeous eggs I’ve seen, and maybe the only thing she doesn’t know is how to count, because look at what I got out of my dozen egg order!! Seriously though - many thanks. They came perfectly packed with no breaks, all the eggs were beautiful blue just like I’d hoped, and now I have so many cuties to grow out!

Oops! Apparently I miscalculated the hatching date. But it looks like an awesome hatch Longfeather Lane!! Thank you!!

Thanks so much for the kind words! Happy to be shipping eggs now and able to share our ducks and chickens! ♥️🥚♥️

🦆 A Well-Earned Shoutout: Triple Creek Farm 🦆

They say hatching eggs are always a gamble — and we won’t pretend otherwise. But we’ve learned firsthand that the odds shift dramatically depending on who you’re buying from. Triple Creek Farm has given us such a consistent run of success that it’s made us genuinely skeptical whenever another seller shrugs off a poor hatch rate (or broken eggs, or no development at all) as just the nature of shipped eggs. 🤷‍♀️

And for sellers who point to distance as the culprit for a poor hatch — Triple Creek Farm is all the way across the country from us in North Carolina, while we’re here in Oregon. If distance were really the deciding factor, our odds should be terrible. They’re not. 🗺️

We’ve ordered from Triple Creek Farm at least ten times now, and with only one exception, we’ve hatched at least eight babies out of every dozen eggs — every single time. 🥚🐣🦆

Recently, we ordered more Silver Appleyard duck eggs from Heather, not because we needed them (we already have a strong line of our own 🦆🦆), but because her flock photos this year were too gorgeous to pass up. 📸 Once again: eight fuzzy little ducklings out of twelve eggs purchased, from around fourteen sent, since she always tucks in a few extras. 🐥🐥🐥 Ignore the black magpie, silver Ancona and guinea in the photo below - we are excited about these gorgeous SA babies!! 8 out of 14 may not sound like a lot to the inexperienced, but remember this is a MINIMUM consistent number we are getting - we also get more, but only once have we gotten less.

The kind of consistency we’ve experienced with Triple Creek Farm isn’t luck. Heather is an experienced, conscientious professional. She ships her eggs in foam inserts (in our experience that is the best way to ship, and we’ve probably seen 100 or more different egg shipments now from at least 50 unique sellers), candles before shipping, and tests fertility routinely. Sure - shipped eggs are a gamble, but with Triple Creek, the odds are excellent. Add to this Heather’s professionalism in how she treats others, her effort to make educational posts, and her willingness to answer endless questions - we are hard pressed to think of anyone making a more massive contribution to the preservation of duck breeds. Heather you should get an award!!! But for now this post will have to do. 🏆
