In the winter season the learning never stops. Today I'm taking in a workshop to better dial in our spray drone application speed, spray height, swath width, and droplet sizes for next season based on the variety of chemicals and conditions we spray in to help serve our customers with more accurate and effective spray applications on crops.

Comparing products can reaveal strengths and weaknesses of the products we use on the farm. That is why we run several trials each year on our farm. Here we have a trial of 2 different fungicides. From the air I would say Fungicide A has an advantage over Fungicide B and the check strip strictly from a visual stantpoint. Stay tuned for harvest results to see if this correlates to a yield advantage this fall.

One benefit of using drones for fungicide application is being able to get field edges applied precisely. In the photo you can see an area along the edge of these fields that fungicide did not get applied to.

Timing on fungicide application has shown to play key role in how well a fungicide works. Here you can see a difference from morning to evening application with a drone. Beck's PFR has shown that early morning applications have a positive ROI over mid-day appliations.

Confused as to why the moisture in your corn crop is so variable this year? These photos may offer an explanation. Fungicide spray patterns are now showing up in fields where the planes or drones swaths were influeced by wind or passes were missed. With the heavy disease pressure late we are seeing where fungicides have been more effective or less effective in the crop this year.

Farmers, getting out in your fields can reveal a lot about what is going on in your crop. In these photos you can clearly see that a second fungicide pass is making a visual difference this year with all the disease pressure. Will that translate to yield? We don't know yet but applications throughout the year are showing their strengths and weaknesses now from the air. Stay tuned for more aerial reveals from our corn fields.

Delivering items from our commitment rewards program is always a rewarding experience.
We get to get to see our customers receive tools and equipment for their farm simply for choosing Beck's Hybrids.
