Spring has returned to the ranch🌸 Birds are chirping, precious baby calves are toddling around, and the rolling hills are greening up with lusciuos green grasses. There are innumerable things that make this land special, but the grasses are really the lifeblood of the place, part of the ancient cycle that sustains the herd that sustains all of us.

Here on the ranch, we have the Big 4 all-stars:

🌾Big Bluestem, aka the King of the Prairie, rich in magnesium and potassium

🌾Indiangrass, full of protein and micronutrients

🌾Switchgrass, with its 10-foot roots drawing up trace minerals not accessed by most

🌾Little Bluestem, dense forage packed with energy and vitality

These grasses are so much more than just feed; they’re a living system and our way as humans to access and connect with the power of nourishing minerals, the sun’s warm rays, and pure rainwater—all things that’ll never be found in a bag of grain or in the walls of a feedlot!

A lot has changed in the world since our last season, but our commitment remains steadfast:

'Ben Johnson Days' kicked off on Wednesday with an art show and mixer with a lot more planned over the next several days. One of the organizers Cody Garnett and World Champion cowboy Luke Campbell joined News on 6 on Thursday to talk about this year's event and what guests can expect.

👋🏻 Interrupting our regularly scheduled break to celebrate fathers (MY father, in particular) and families today!

My grandmother (the lovely lady in the pic here), the only child of Jack Drummond. She was born in Hominy, Oklahoma, and was what I like to call a Debutante Cowgirl (same for my other grandmother... I have a lot of these mystical creatures, debutante cowgirls, in my lineage).

She married a doctor and was a loving mother of six children. They raised the family in Dallas, but the boys would often spend summers working up on the ranch in the Oklahoma heat (a tradition my brothers got to continue as well!).

My dad (the dapper lil guy on the far left) was number four and, eventually returned to the places of his childhood and took the ranch over and has made legendary strides and gains with it in one generation and we are all so, so proud of him and his work!

Happy fathers day to my dad and to all the men out there working hard to carry the torch--we see you and we love you!!
