We knew something was up when we could hear snoring clear across the field… 😄🐖

Walked over to check on the pigs and found this instead—these four had tucked themselves into the vines, made a cozy little nest, and were completely piled on top of each other fast asleep. Not a care in the world.

Farm life isn’t always quiet… sometimes it’s just loud napping 😂

Anyone else have animals that snore louder than they should?

Freezer’s getting a little fuller today 🎣❄️

Had a great run catching some beautiful rainbow trout and managed to bring home a solid haul. Nothing beats time on the water and knowing you’ve got clean, home-caught food going into the freezer. Got them all cleaned up, vacuum sealed, and ready for meals down the road—always a satisfying feeling.

Around here, our favorite way to cook trout is simple: pan fried in butter with a handful of fresh herbs. Hard to beat that crispy skin and flaky meat.

What’s your go-to trout recipe? Always looking for new ways to cook them!

Update on Froggy 🐑💛

We’re so thankful to share that things are looking much better!

After some time, patience, and a lot of watching and waiting, mom has started accepting Froggy—and even better, he’s nursing! 🙌

It’s such a relief to see them together like this after a bit of a rocky start. Froggy is getting stronger on those legs, and mama is settling into her new role just fine.

Thank you to everyone who prayed and checked in on them—we truly appreciate it more than you know. ❤️

Late yesterday brought one of those moments that reminds us homesteading isn’t always easy.

We had a first-time mama who struggled through a long labor and needed a little help. Thankfully, both mom and baby made it through safely.

Little “Froggy” (named for all the hopping he did right after birth before figuring out those legs!) wasn’t able to nurse at first, so we stepped in with a bottle to give him a good start.

Right now, mama and baby are resting together in a small pen, and we’re praying they bond well and that she begins feeding him soon.

We’d appreciate your prayers for this sweet pair 💛

Fresh out of the oven 🍞🫐

This blueberry sourdough loaf came out with that perfect crackly crust and bursts of sweet, juicy berries in every bite. The balance of tangy sourdough and natural blueberry sweetness is hard to beat.

Would you slice it warm or toast it with a little butter? 😋
