The Forest Farmery The Forest Farmery is a small, family-run farm, microbakery and farmstand.

We raise dairy goats, quails, chickens, Angora rabbits, and honey bees while tending a modestly sized fruit orchard and garden.

We’ve been busy, like our bees, and I haven’t had time or energy to post on social media. BUT our hives are thriving and growing!

I was in the hospital this past week and although I’m well enough to be home, my body is still recovering. Bees are incredibly therapeutic so I figured doing a hive check would be beneficial to my recovery.

These are our new colonies and they are doing amazing! One of our frames didn’t have an insert but they did a great job building out their comb from scratch. On one of the final frames we found a few bees sitting around a table made of beeswax, belly up to the bar and sipping honey (see video!). Soooo cute!

It was really nice to spend some time with our new bees, spot our new queens, and feel their healing vibes.

No words, except: oh.my.gosh!!!!! If you know me, I’m always in competition with myself. It’s no different when it comes to our offerings on the farmstand. Cinnamon, sugar, butter, dough - it’s a classic. But for the stand I’ve been working through different ways to bring those ingredients to you in a way that’s different, but showstopping. Something that is easy for me to prepare and doesn’t take all my time. This cinnamon roll focaccia has done exactly that! And holy heck, you are NOT going to want to miss out on this. Wow. Wow wow wow.

As an artist I really enjoy bringing creativity into my baking - I don’t just want to make a cookie or a pastry, I want the flavors to be different, and the aesthetic to be pleasing but still delicious. Blackberry & Rosemary are a surprising combination, but I can walk out my front door and see blackberries and rosemary tangled together as if they knew how delicious together they have been all along. Come get some this Saturday, April 18 from 11-3 at 1730 Saint Garth Way, Shingle Springs.
